I am completely obsessed with Cease to Begin, the latest album – or sophomore effort, if I want to sound like a music critic – by Band of Horses. I just love, love, love it. I haven’t loved anything as much since Matt Nathanson’s Some Mad Hope album was released last August. And wow, I still really love that one too.
On a different note, while I’m sitting here at work listening to Band Of Horses set to repeat on my iPhone, my head feels like it’s in a vice. Major headache. Today marks day 7 of me giving up caffeine. It wasn’t really intentional, me giving up caffeine. Not a New Year’s resolution or anything. Basically on the morning of New Years Day I decided to have hot tea instead of coffee. Probably because I had a cold, and I normally opt for tea when I’m under the weather – I secretly hope that the antioxidants in tea will speed my healing. And probably also because our all-in-one latte/cappuccino/espresso maker decided to quit making crema coffee that morning, as well.
So I opted for tea, and I’ve continued to “opt” for tea since, although the headaches have gotten more aggressive as I reach this one week mark. And the afternoons without my Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper have made it increasingly difficult to get through the days at work. My motivation is at an all-time low, but hopefully my body is better for it. Because that would totally make up for me hating my working-life 45 hours a week, right?
My body better freaking thank me, somehow.
