servin' up a feast

decided to provide a feast today, for lack of creativity on my part.

Appetizer
On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest) how much do enjoy watching sports on television?
I love taking a nap with a golf tournament on. That is the best. Otherwise, I hate all sports on tv, except Univ of Texas football and basketball. Even then, I'd rather be there in person.

Soup
If you could completely memorize any one work of fiction, which one would you pick?
I already know just about every line of Tommy Boy. I know it's not a book, but it's fiction! And it puts me in a good mood to be able to recite funny parts.

What is your favorite breakfast food?
Breakfast tacos and Migas, hands down! But I don't let myself indulge in them very often. So on a regular basis, scrambled egg whites & breakfast potatoes.

How long does it usually take you to fall asleep?
Normally about 3 minutes. But I remember a friend in elementary school telling me it takes 7 minutes to fall asleep, and I always believed it. Think I'll go google that right now...

kryptonite

i work on crossword puzzles just about every night before i go to bed. for some reason it relaxes me and it's a ritual i thoroughly enjoy. tim always wants to help out, but he's not very good. for one thing, he can't spell for anything, and spelling is pretty much critical in crosswords. for another thing, he writes in pen - clearly a no-no, especially when he's rarely right.

but that's neither here nor there. this is what really got me last night.

clue: "Krypton, for example"

i asked tim, thinking he'd surely know because it relates to Superman and superheroes and all that boy stuff. turns out it was a stumper for him. and while trying to work it out he said aloud:

"a gas? isn't Krypton on the periodic table of elements?"

Krypton. on the periodic table of elements. what world do you live in, tim? and you call yourself a chemical engineer.

just priceless.
